Frequently Asked Questions

Resolve your questions about breast implants and the breast augmentation process.

Cohesive silicone (gel) implants are the most popular because they provide a more natural and soft feel. Saline implants are a more economical alternative, but may feel less natural. The choice depends on your anatomy, preferences and surgeon's recommendation.

Modern breast implants are very durable, but they are not lifetime devices. On average, they last 10-20 years. Some women never need to replace them, while others opt to change them for aesthetic choice or if any complication arises. Regular monitoring with your surgeon is recommended.

Yes, most women can breastfeed after breast augmentation. The inframammary or axillary incision generally does not interfere with lactation. The periareolar incision has a slightly higher risk of affecting nipple sensitivity or milk ducts, but even so, most can breastfeed without problems.

Breast Lift

Breast Lift: Elevation and Breast Rejuvenation

L

ifts and firms sagging breasts, restoring a more youthful and firm appearance. Breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is ideal for women whose breasts have lost firmness and elasticity due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss or the natural aging process.

This procedure repositions breast tissue, lifts the nipple and areola to a more youthful position, and removes excess skin to create a firmer and more aesthetic contour. Breast lift can be performed alone or combined with implants for those who also want to increase volume. Different techniques exist depending on the degree of sagging: periareolar (minimal), vertical (moderate) or inverted anchor (severe).

Frequently Asked Questions

Important information about breast lift and its recovery.

Although you can become pregnant and breastfeed after a breast lift, it's ideal to wait until you complete your family. Pregnancy and breastfeeding can stretch the breasts again and affect the results. However, many women decide to do it before and accept the possibility of needing a future touch-up.

Scars vary depending on the technique used. The periareolar incision (around the areola) is the least visible. The vertical adds a line from the areola to the fold. The inverted anchor technique also includes a horizontal line in the fold. With time and proper care, scars fade considerably.

Results can last 10-15 years or more, depending on factors such as age, genetics, weight fluctuations and future pregnancies. Maintaining a stable weight, wearing well-supported bras, and caring for your skin helps prolong results. The natural aging process will continue, but breasts will maintain a more elevated position than without surgery.
